Who are we?

In tthe early 90's established actor-producer David C. Jones gathered some of the cities finest and funniest performers to help raise awareness and money for a great cause. Comedy cabarets called Sketch In Time were created with funds raised benefiting AIDS Vancouver and later the ALS Society of BC. In 2006 David gathered a powerful and diverse board of directors together to continue the project under the incorporated name The Vancouver Laughter Mission Society. A registered non-profit society, the idea was born out of the number of requests from various care-giving organizations for humorous presentations to be given to their patients and/or respective caregivers. Care-giving organizations generally operate on very tight budgets and often cannot even afford honorariums for performers. A caregiver for his ALS stricken mother, David witnessed first-hand the innumerable positive benefits of laugher on the sick and how it promotes healing and well-being. David and his funny friends have performed at numerous charity benefits and carefacilities, however, the sheer volume of worthy organizations requesting free performancesmakes it impossible for them to always say "Yes".

The LMS is not for profit society, run by an all volunteer board of directors. We do not receive any government funding and rely upon donations to fill our mission. We are in the process of seeking charitable status from Revenue Canada.
